The immune response and efficacy of a DNA combined tissue culture inactivated anti-rabies vaccine (Dinarab®) in two different post exposure schedules were studied in rabies exposed cattle. The study animals were grouped into two groups. Group-1 vaccinated with schedule I as injection of vaccine on 0, 3rd, 7th, 14th and 28th days and Group-2 vaccinated with schedule II as administration of five dose of vaccine on 0, 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th days continuously. The rabies virus neutralizing antibody titers were assessed on day zero, 7, 14, 28, 60 and 90 by employing rapid fluorescent focus inhibition test-(RFFIT). Both the schedules I and II were providing protective titre from 14th to 90th day of observation in cattle and the new DNA combined tissue culture antirabies vaccine can be recommended as a vaccine of choice for post exposure rabies treatment in cattle.
