Description: The journal publishes original research in key areas of plant sciences including crop breeding, genetics, genomics, proteomics, biotechnology, biochemistry and physiology. The contributions from agronomy, pathology and entomology will also be considered if these relate to germplasm assessment and or development of screening techniques. All work needs to have a clear intent and impact on plant breeding. Theoretical considerations will be accepted in combination with new experimental data and/or if they indicate a relevant application in plant genetics or breeding. Practical plant breeding will continue to be of greater interest. Critical reviews of topics pertaining to crop improvement pointing out lacunae in research suggesting possible line of future research or developing new concepts will also be considered.
