Description: The Horticulture Society of India was founded in January 1942 registered on 6th November 1951 under the Societies Registration Act of 1860. The "Indian Journal of Horticulture" is the official publication of the Horticultural Society of India. The journal publishes original research papers on all horticultural crops. At present it has been rated at 2.5 out of 4.0 points by the NAAS, New Delhi, which is the highest amongst the Horticultural Journals published from India. Presently, the journal is being abstracted in CAB Abstracts, Horticultural Abstracts, Agro-forestry Abstracts, Agricultural Engineering Abstracts, Biological abstract, Crop Physiology Abstracts, Forest Abstracts, Indian Science Abstracts, Ornamental Horticulture, Plant Breeding Abstracts, Plant Genetic Resources Abstracts, Post-harvest News and Information, Seed Abstracts, Review of Aromatic and Medicinal Plants, Rural Development Abstracts etc. The journal issues have also been submitted for review to the ISI Thompson, Philadelphia, USA for consideration for the grant of impact factor.
