Abstract To years field study was conducted at Haryana Agricultural University during 1985 and 1986, to study the effect of time of application of nitlogen and weed control on the competition and control of weeds in pearlmillet. Based on the average of two years, atrazine (2-cholro-4 (ethyleamino)-6-(isopropylamino)-S-triazine) applied at 0.5 kg/ha or two hand woeding at 3 and 5 week after sowing provided similar control of weeds. Application of 1/4th N at sowing and 1/4th at 3 weeks after sowing or full dose of nitrogen al 3 weaks after sowing as found to be the best alternative when the weeding was delayed upto 3 w.a.s. Top |
