Online published on 26 March, 2024. Abstract With the help of information from literature and fresh as well as herbarium specimens, Alysicarpus hamosus was carefully observed. On the basis of the habit, structure of leaf, structure of calyx and pod characters, A. hamosus was divided into two variants. On the basis of this their qualitative characters, both of the variants the author proposed that both of them should be treated as new varieties. The spermoderm pattern of the specimens showed significant topographical differences. The results of the investigation indicated that the variation within A. hamosus represents distinct kinds that can be recognized as taxa at infra-specific level.
