Abstract Present communication gives an account on leaf architecture, epidermal morphology, and anatomy of petiole, lamina, stem, inflorescence peduncle and root of the Polyura geminata (Wall. ex G.Don) Hook. f.. The species was collected from Kamrup districts of Assam state. For anatomical studies, free hand transverse sections were taken and observed under microscopes. The investigation recorded arc shaped vascular bundle with 0-1 lateral bundle in the petiole. The vascular bundle was arranged in circle around the pith in stem, inflorescence peduncle and root. The stomata of the species were anomocytic, situated in lower surface of the leaf. Leaf architecture was with pinnate venation. Top Keywords Anatomy, Architecture, Polyura, Rubiaceae. Top |
