Influence of butea Monosperma and moringa oleifera leaf extracts on reproductive hormones in male albino rats Paturkar K. M. Dharampeth M. P. Deo Memorial Science College, Nagpur Online published on 12 July, 2024. Abstract Influence of Butea monosperma and Moringa oleifera leaf extract on hormonal secretion in male albino rats was observed. Control group A received distilled water, group B and C received 5.2 and 53.2 mg/kg body weight crude alcoholic extract of Butea monospermic leaves respectively. Group D and E received alcoholic extract (175 mg/kg ) and aqueous extract of Moringa oleifera (350 mg/kg) dily for 20 days. Increase in the FSH level in group C and slight decrease in group B were observed, while no such a significant change was observed in LH level in control group. However aqueous as well as alcoholic extracts of Butea monosperma showed decrease in testosterone and prolactin (PRL) levels. In case of Moringa oleifera no significant changes in FSH, LH and Testosterone levels were observed but it influenced secretion of prolactin hormone.
