Abstract

Present investigation reports occurrence of six species of frogs from Nanded city and it's surroundings, which include two species belonging to family Dicroglossidae (Euphlyctis cyanophlyctis (Schneider, 1799) and Hoplobatrachus tigerinus,), one species each from Family Bufonidae Gray (Bufo (Duttaphrynus) melanostictus Schneider, 1799); Microhylidae Gunther (Kaloula taprobanica ; Syn: Uperodon taprobanicus Parker 1934) and, Rhacophoridae Hoffman (Polypedates maculatus). Kaloula taprobanica has been reported for the first time in this region, while Painted Frog Kaloula taprobanica shows wide spread distribution in Maharashtra.
