Abstract

Present study aims to explore diversity and abundance of dragonflies on rice fields in Bhandara District, Maharashtra. The study was conducted during January 2021 and December 2021 for the duration of one year. Four families of dragonflies were recorded in Bhandara District with 21 species. The Libellulidae family was the most abundant, followed by Aeshnidae, Gomphidae, and Macromiidae families, which had 2, 1, and 1 species, respectively. The diversity of dragonflies was assessed on the basis of species richness, species diversity, evenness, abundance, etc. The present study will be useful for conservation of dragonfly species in the study area.
