Abstract

An attempt has been made in the present paper to analyse 34 variables of development among 23 notified towns in Mizoram with the help of Principal Component Analysis (PCA). The study reveals that administrative centres have scored relatively higher level of development whereas the least developed ones are the smallest towns. This paper clearly shows that the number of population in towns directly and indirectly influences the degree of development amongst urban centres in Mizoram.
