Successful Treatment of Snake bite in Canines - A Report of 3 cases Patel S.M., Rishi Deepika, Damor K.M., Mansuri A.M. Abstract Two boxer dogs, 1 ½ year old male and 2 ½ years old female and 4 ½ year old Cocker Spaniel female with a history of frothy salivation, severe swelling in head, neck and forelimb region, recumbency, dyspnoea, bleeding from natural orifices were presented in semi comatose condition. Based on the anamnesis and physical examination, the cases were diagnosed as that of snake bite. The immediate haematological parameters showed no fluctuations. The cases were successfully treated by snake venom antiserum, corticosteroids, supportive therapy and round the clock monitoring. Top Keywords Antiserum, dog, emergency, snake bite, venom. Top |
