Online Published on 16 September, 2024. Abstract Pigeons were reported with the clinical signs of congested conjunctival mucous membrane, dullness, unilateral head swelling and nasal discharge. Flock strength was 50 birds and 60 days old. On investigation, clinical signs started 20 days after death of the 3 pigeons. On post-mortem examination, lungs were found congested and edematous. Air sacs were cloudy with beaded appearance and thickened. From live birds samples were collected from infraorbital sinus and ocular region, while in dead birds, it was taken from lung and air sacs. Mycoplasma spp. was isolated by polymerase chain reaction for samples taken from infraorbital sinus and air sac region and confirmed. The mycoplasmosis was treated with 250 milligram/ kg b.wt. of Tylosin through drinking water for 5 days. Top Keywords Clinical sign, Isolation, Mycoplasmosis, Multiplex PCR, Pigeon, Tylosin. Top |
