Online published on 16 September, 2024. Abstract The paper represents surgical management of tail gangrene in an Asian elephant. The elephant was anaesthetized with Ketamine and Xylazine hydrochloride @ 0.11 and 0.1 mg per kg body weight. Post-operatively, the elephant was treated with parenteral medications viz. antibiotic, anti-inflammatory, anti-histaminic and multivitamins for seven consecutive days.
