Abstract

Thirty-five maize composites and families of elite lines were evaluated for tolerance to maize stalk borer, Chilo partellus (Swinhoe) during kharif season under factitious release of black-head stage egg masses and to shoot fly complex (Atherigona soccata Rondani and A. naqvii Steyskal) during spring season under natural infestation. The data revealed that Camp. A-214 and EVA-82-4-87 constitute multiple sources of resistance to C. partellus and shoot fly species.
