Nature of malathion resistance in a laboratory selected strain of Sitophilus oryzae (L.) Bansode Prafulla C.*, Bhatia Sawraj K. Division of Entomology, Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi-110 012 (India). *Present Address: Indian Grain Storage Institute, Field Stntlon. Adhanal. Jabalpur-482 004 (MP) (India). Abstract Studies to ascertain the nature of resistance in a laboratory selected malathion-resistant strain of the rice weevil, Sitophilus oryzae (L.) revealed that synergist triphenyi phosphate does not suppress resistance in this strain. It seems that resistance in this strain is not due to a mechanism specific for malathion. Top | |
