Abstract Covid-19, a virus-based disease is considered the worst pandemic the world had ever faced. In keeping pace with the spread of disease, medical researchers have published a vast amount of literature on various aspects of Covid-19 within a short period. The present paper briefly analyses 78017 global and 5437 Indian articles on Covid-19 indexed in the Scopus database. The major focus of this study is to identify the most productive and most impactful Indian authors and study their collaborative linkages using Social Network Analysis. The analysis used various measures such as degree centralities, closeness centralities, betweenness centralities, and eigen vector centralities of the Indian authors. Ten most prominent authors who have made the largest impact on the Indian Covid-19 research have been identified. The paper used Open Refine, Microsoft Excel, Table2Net and Gephi software to analyse the data. Concludes that in the absence of usable citation data, SNA provides an alternative to assess the impact of research.
