Evaluation of chemicals and botanicals on the damage caused by coconut perianth mite, Aceria guerreronis Keifer Soundararajan R.P.2, Leo Justin C. Gailce1 1Horticultural Research Station, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Pechiparai-629 161 2Horticultural Research Station (TNAU), Yercaud, Salem-636 602, India Abstract The chemicals viz., carbosulfan and monocrotophos were tested as root feeding method. The chemicals dicofol and botanicals; garlic + neem oil and neem oil alone were applied as direct spray on the nuts. The % damage of young nuts (four months old bunches) was observed. The damage level on young nuts was minimum in carbosulfan (18.4%) and garlic + neem oil (32.1%) treated trees after three rounds of treatments. The number of undamaged harvested nuts were high in the carbosulfan and garlic + neem oil treated trees and harbours 41.4% and 32.4% grade 1 nuts, respectively during III harvest.
