Dehradun. There were sixteen treatment combinations including a control comprising three levels of zinc sulphate (0.4, 0.6 and 0.8%) and of NAA (10, 20 and 30ppm), replicated thrice in F.C.R.D. The result of the study clearly shows that the maximum fruit set per panicle (77.54%), minimum fruit drop percentage (46.06%) were recorded from the treatment combination of NAA @ 30ppm and zinc sulphate @ 0.8%. The same treatment combination also gave maximum fruit retention (60.63%), minimum fruit cracking (2.80%), and highest length of fruit (5.40 cm) and width of fruits (4.60cm). The maximum fruit weight (23.44g) and maximum pulp weight (19.30g) were also obtained with the combination of NAA @ 30ppm and zinc sulphate @ 0.8%. Beside this significant superiority was observed in terms of seed and rind weight (2.07g) and (2.03g) with the same treatment. The plants that received a combination of NAA @30 ppm and zinc sulphate @ 0.8% showed a maximum yield per plant of 120.30kg/plant. The maximum sugar content was observed in litchi fruits (14.25%) with foliar sprays of NAA@30ppm and zinc sulphate@0.8% combination under plain of northern India.
