Dissipation of Flubendiamide and Deltamethrin on Chilli (Capsicum annuum L.) following Application of Combination Formulation

Abstract

A field trial was carried out to determine the dissipation pattern of flubendiamide, its metabolite (desiodoflubendiamide) and deltamethrin on chilli following application of combination formulation in Telangana. A combination formulation of flubendiamide + deltamethrinwas applied as foliar spray three times at recommended {36+24 g ai ha-1} (x-dose) and double the recommended {72+48 g ai ha-1} (2x dose) at 7 days interval starting from fruit initiation stage. The samples of green chilli fruits were collected at regular intervals after final spray and red chilli and soil at harvest. The samples were analyzed on LC-MS/MS. The limit of quantification (LOQ) was 0.05 mg kg-1. The initial deposits of flubendiamide dissipated to below LOQ by 25 and 30 days in x and 2x doses with half-lives of 6.8 and 6.5 days, respectively. In case of deltamethrin, the initial deposits dissipated to below LOQ by 20 and 25 days with corresponding half-lives of 6.5 and 6.8 days, in case of x and 2x doses, respectively. The residues of desiodoflubendiamide were found to be below LOQ in both the doses at 0 day after application. The residues of flubendiamide, desiodoflubendiamide and deltamethrin in red chilli and soil at harvest were found to be below LOQ.
