Research:
Basic Agronomy of Dwarf Wheats during the settings of green revolution (1964-67).
Nurtrients Uptake Pattern in the Life cycle of Wheat Plant (Ph.D. work under Dr. R.G. Anderson) and Agronomy of Medicinal plants i.e. Raulfia serpentina, Mentha etc.
Plant nutrition, Fertilizer use and soil fertility interaction on Wheat, Rice, Maize, Bajra, Oilseeds, Mustard, Safflower, Sunflower and Groundnut.
Pulses: Mung, Urd, Cowpea, Chickpea and Soyabean and Sugercane (1971-83).
Double Cropping under dryland/rainfed situations to boost pulses and oilseed production in India (1971-83).
Top-dress application of phosphorus fertilizers: developed theory and practical use that exploded myth on fertiliser ue and its utility under normal and adverse situstions (1971-83).
Research Coordination and Management:
Organise to develop Agronomy of Wheat and Wheat based cropping systems (1983-93) for higher production and efficient use of water and related inputs through Wheat Project Directorate.
Developed "Rice-wheat" systems programme as ICAR designated National Coordinator (1984-93)
Coordinated All India Net Work Programme on different location specific cropping systems in India of all major crops through 25 main and 12 sub-centres on-station and 32 on-farm centres spread over in the country (1993-95).
As head of Agronomy Division: Organised Research on different Cereals, Oilseed, Pulses, Sugar and Fibre crops and National, Regional and Location specific problems; Teaching on Crop production, Irrigation Management, Soil fertility and weed control programmes and Extension of IARI released technology to around Delhi village and consultancy to all India places and programmes (1995-97)
Also helped IARI administration as Chief of Security Services (from Dec. 1995 to April 1997).
Extension Activities: Seasonal crop crash programmes in around Delhi and UP villages (1964-1997), Lab. to Land Programme (1973-89), Wheat maximisation trials in all wheat zones (1984-93) and on farm research and demonstrations at 32 PDCSR centres (1993-95), delivered more than 200 radio and 100 TV talks and about 400 talks on NGOs requests at different places.
