Abstract

The increased IoT devices in everyday life build dense IoT networks that consume more energy. Energy efficiency is sustainable goal for prolonged networks. MAC protocols for green IoT contributes to flawless communication by optimized power. The various recent energy efficient MAC protocols for dense sensor networks are studied in this paper and their strengths and weaknesses analysed. To overcome the existing issues such as scalabity, interference management and heterogeneity in dense networks future researches can implement AI and ML technologies in ultra-dense deployments.
