Anthropological Analysis of Elamite Women's Traditional Clothing in the Contemporary Era

Abstract

The main aim of this study is to analyze the anthropology of Elamite women's traditional clothing and identifying its components and specifying environmental, climatic, economic and social factors effecting on it on one hand and examining the cultural and beliefs factors influencing on Elamite women's clothing on the other hand. 10 women who were over seventy years old were selected among the entire statistical population through random sampling method. The library method and documents is through taking note technique and fieldwork method is done by interview along with video and recording images techniques. The present study has described the components of Elamite women's traditional clothing and ornaments on it and their function and then factors influencing on it have been studied. The current form of Elamite women's clothing, scarf and ornaments is influenced by factors such as the passage of time and political changes, social activity, ethnicity, geographical and climatic conditions, livelihoods style, cultural and religious beliefs in society, function of each component of clothing and social class and economic status of women. The existed similarities in women's clothing in the adjacent provinces in accordance with diffusion theory indicate the acculturation and their influence on each other.
