Abstract

Twelve crossbred heifers (49–96 kg B.Wt.) were divided into two groups of 6 each. Animals in group A and B were fed on of Dinanath grass and sorghum fodder supplemented with 0.5% urea (on fresh basis), respectively, for a period of one month. During last seven days period a degestibility trial was conducted. Chemical composition of both the fodders were similar at pre-flowering stage. On the basis of digestibility trial data, Dinanath grass was found inferior to sorghum fodder primarily because of lower voluntary intake. ME content in both the groups remained similar but DOP content was higher in group A.
