The estimate of avllable N in some byproduct feeds by the nylon bag technique in terms of rumen upgradable and undegradable N, corrected for acid detergent linked N, was compared with the reported values of digestible N determined in conventional digestibility trials. The byproduct feeds contain an appreciable amount of avialble N, but caution is needed in their utilization as even toxic N may be highly digestible.
