First lactation 300 days milk yield was found to be significantly influenced by farm, period and age-group. Similarly, first lactation period and first dry Period were influenced by all the nongenetic factors except age-group which only had significant effect on number of services per conception. The effects due to farm and season of calving were found to be significant for first service period and first calving interval. The heritability estimates of 300 d FLY, FLP, WFC, FDP, FSP, NS/C and FCI were 0.18±0.07, 0.15±0.07, 0.28±0.08, 0.24±0.08, 0.11±0.06, 0.11±0.06, and 0.27±0.08 respectively. Based on genetic correlations among the traits it could be concluded that buffaloes with longer FLP, higher WFC, shorter FDP, less NS/C and shorter FCI exhibit better performance for first lactation milk yield.
