Abstract

The present investigation deals with the use of polyethylene bags to extend the shelf life of purple passionfruits during their storage at room temperature and atmospheric humidity. Wooden crates were found unsuitable for packing these fruits. It is observed that passionfruits can be stored in unperforated polyethylene bags for 18 days without causing appreciable changes in their freshness and physico-chemical characters.
