TLC analysis of bark samples from 43 different species and cultivars of citrus has revealed a high prevalence, 50 to 100 per cent, of the greening marker substance in almost all the species/cultivars tested. Amilbed, Gajanimma, Florida rough lemon and Kharna Khatta were the only four species in which the marker substance was completely absent.
