350 subjects were screened for internet addiction out of which 127 met criteria. Continuous data is represented using t-test/ANOVA. Pearson correlation coefficient is used to study the correlation between continuous variables. The statistical significance was set at p < 0.05. Insomnia is found to be positively correlated and emotional intelligence negatively correlated with internet addiction.

Through this study we conclude that internet addiction can lead to problematic sleep in younger population, which can lead to stressful events. Therefore, it is necessary to identify students with potential Internet addiction and help them to manage it.
