Abstract

This paper presents a technical note on Biopolymers from Renewable Energy as Sustainability Solutions. The effects of biopolymers in energy storage applications have been discussed, along with the materials suitable for this purpose. Cellulose Acetate (CA), Starch, and Chitosan (CS)-based BPs have been used in many researches on Batteries, Supercapacitors (SC), and Electric Double Layer Capacitors (EDLC), in the form of using BPs in energy storage applications. Biopolymer blends and composites have also been briefly described. Biopolymers have the potential to contribute to reduce environmental impact, and promoting a more sustainable future. Finally, their role in making Sustainable Material for Food and Medical Applications has been discussed in great detail. The paper should be of immense use to the budding researchers engaged in this evolving important field.
