Bibliometric study of indian journal of psychiatry: 2011–2016

Abstract

The Indian Journal of Psychiatry (IJP) has been recognized as one of the most important journals in psychiatry discipline. The paper presents teh result of a bibliometric study of 176 articles published in the Indian Journal of Psychiatry from 2011 to 2016. This study presents various aspects of the journal such as growth of articles and citations, authorship pattern, productivity and degree of collaboration, rate of citation of Indian and foreign authors, citation count and length of the articles. The study reveals that the trends of authorship pattern of articles in teh discipline were shared authorship, most of the contributions were from Indian authors and highly received citation count of these articles has been found.
