Biology of the coffee berry borer, Hypothenemus hampei (Ferrari) under varying thermal conditions
Abstract
Studies on biology of Hypotheriemus hampei (Ferrari), under different temperature regime revealed that the rate of growth, development and reproduction were highest at 31 ± 2°C. The measurements of head capsules of larvae indicated the presence of 3 instars. The mating system was inbreeding with a male to female ratio of 1:10.
