Abstract

Predators being polyphagous and mobile, are difficult to manipulate in a habitat. However, some predators such as, ants, coccinellid beetles, anthocorid bugs and earwigs have been effective bioagents against stem borers in different agrosystems. Thus, if they are provided with suitable conditions and habitats for their survival, conservation and augmentation, they can be used as bioagents in pest management as their utilization is economical, eco-friendly and compatible with other pest control measures.
