Abstract

A pest is any organism that spreads disease, causes destruction or is otherwise a nuisance, in other words pest is any animal which has a harmful effect on humans, their food or their living conditions. Agricultural pest is a destructive insect that attacks crops, food, livestock, etc. Solanaceous plants are attacked by various insect pests. Tobacco, Nicotiana tabacum in particular is attacked by several lepidopteran pests belonging to family Noctuidae. The larval stage of these moths causes major harm to host plants by eating leaves and causing defoliation of plant. Though the larval stage is harmful but the adult are nocturnal pollinator so the control of these pests should be in a sustainable way. For this the biology and life cycle of these moths need to be studied carefully. Here in this review 8 moth species are described with the interaction with their host.
