Pasteurella multocida type B:2 causes haemorrhagic septicaemia (HS) in cattle and buffaloes in Asia. The present study reports the whole genome sequence of a Pasteurella multocida isolate, from calf lung. A three- month-old buffalo calf died due to respiratory problem and the causative agent was found as P. multocida on basis of the microscopic, cultural and biochemical tests. PCR based on species-specific primer pair KMT1SP6/KMT1T7 was used to confirm the bacteria. After confirmation, the DNA of the isolate was subjected to whole genome sequencing using the Ion-Torrent sequencing platform following the shotgun sequence protocol.
