Abstract

One of the most common causes of fire is electrical short circuit, in turn caused by capacity overload and/or inadequate cable installations. Looking at the effects of a cable fire with its associated smoke spread in unprotected buildings it is easy to understand damage scenario: 60% of fire are caused by electrical installations and equipment. 90% of people injured during fire are not killed by the fire, but are victims of toxic gases. Up to 1, 000 m³ of room air are contaminated with toxic smoke when just 1 kg of PVC cable insulation burns. 0.1 l HCI (hydrochloric acid) arises when 1kg of PVC cable insulation burns. Corrosive contamination of all room surfaces, production machinery, wares, etc. by bonding with humidity or fire water.

The fact that in many buildings a fire has not occured for decades does not prove that there is no danger.

It is only a stroke of luck, the end of which may arrive at any time.“Passive fire protection is required by law for…

Protecting people‘s life

Protecting the environment

Protecting Public Safety

Basis of an effective fire-fighting
