Abstract

Style starts the moment a teacher walks into a classroom. It is the teacher's personality. It is a cocoon students build around the teacher in their minds. It is a promise of liveliness, intrigue, humour, gusto, fairness, friendliness and the acquisition of knowledge and skills. Traditionally, most of the work on teaching styles concerned itself with techniques such as seeking information on whether teachers lecture or lead discussions or whether they are rigid and demanding, or spontaneous and encouraging. The review of management and organisational development literature views that by using appropriate transactional styles, B-school teachers can establish a proactive learning environment in the institutes. In other words, the study focuses on analysis of Trainer Transactional Styles pertaining to teaching and interaction with students inside and outside the class room.
