An attempt has been made in this research work to treat high strength coffee pulp wastewater using up-flow anaerobic fixed bed reactor with plastic straw sheaf as support media. The reactor was operated at four different hydraulic retention times (HRT). The BOD, COD, Phosphate and Nitrate removal efficiency were found to be 94, 86, 56 and 65% respectively for HRT of 48h. The promising results help in designing an economical treatment facility.
