Stress is an unavoidable consequence of life and is now a corporate buzzword. It is having negative consequences of modern living, but not necessarily detrimental. The pleasant side of stress caused by good things(known as eu-stress:Greek'eu'means good) and the unpleasant side of stress caused by bad things is acknowledged as distress. Distress may cause emotional turmoil, psychological disorders and multifarious diseases like diabetes, hypertension, ulcer and even cancer. But, eustress refers healthy, constructive and productive outcome which generate encouraging impact on individual and organization as well. The present paper is an attempt to highlight a critical part of the job stress phenomena and offers tactics for stimulating positive stress in the workplace. As the landscape of business organizations grows in complexity, the demands for synergism between managers and subordinates seem imperative. Managers must understand the distress that occurs from role conflict, role ambiguity and workload variance. Practining effective delegation, striving for active listening and harnessing the power of their organization in a creative fashion can contribute greatly to eustress in the organization. This positive force will definitely "add value" to the total output of the firm. It also shows that managing stress at the "optimum level" can ensure the individual as well as organizational enhanced performance and productivity.
