In Bangladesh, approximately 50 percent populations are women. This large portion of population are now participating in the overall development process and for this reason the study about female migration is quite important and imperative. The purpose of this study is to observe the socio-demographic characteristics of female migrants and determinants of female migration. For this, data was collected from Bogra Pourusova of Bogra district, Bangladesh by purposive sampling technique. Chi-square test is used to identify the association between causes of migration and some selected socio-demographic characteristics. It is seen that age at marriage, educational qualification, occupation, religious characteristics, marital status, type of family and type of migration of female migrants are highly associated with causes of migration. Moreover, logistic regression is employed to recognize the influence of some socio-demographic variables on causes of migration. Logistic analysis showed that age at marriage, occupation, religion, marital status, type of family (before migration), type of migration significantly effect on causes of migration of female migrants.
