Analysis of various ethno hisotrical and oral history data suggested that Socio-Economic status of dalith muslims is changing over the period of time. Since 1970 the status of Muslims in India has drawn increasing policy attention. Over the last four decades, various Governments have pursued the long-term goal of promoting an inclusive programme for minorities in India. Additionally, various Governments have constituted different commissions to investigate the socio-economic status of the general Muslim population. Against this backdrop, the immediate aim of this paper is to provide solid background on historical origin and data of Socio-Economic Changes of Dalith Muslims community in rural Karnataka over the period of time and to develop strategies and action plans for enhancement, integration and development of that community.
