Antifungal compounds were isolated from Pseudomonas fluorescens (PfB6) and tested for their efficacy against the pathogen Rhizoctonia solani causing root rot disease in French beans. Phenazine and 2,4 DAPG (2,4 - diacetyl phloroglucinol) extracted from Pseudomonas fluorescens (PfB6) were screened and recorded 76.39% and 75.02% inhibition of mycelial growth of the pathogen over control, respectively. P. fluorescens isolates strongly produced hydroxymate and carboxymate type of siderophore at different levels. Antifungal metabolites of P. fluorescens reduced the root rot disease incidence in French bean and increased the yield.
