Abstract

In India, rice is cultivated as irrigated lowland crop as well as rainfed upland crop. Both systems of rice cultivation are limited by the paucity of water due to vagaries of monsoon. The recently developed mixed inoculant ‘Azophos’ fits well in rice management strategy contributing to the water stress/drought tolerance of the rice crop, due to stimulated root morphogenesis. The results implied the positive influence of Azophos inoculation on rice growth under water stress conditions
