Statistical Evaluation of Development of Villages Potential for Agroforestry Using GIS

In this paper, an attempt has been made to construct a Village Development Index based on the development indicators that affect agroforestry. Using this index all the villages of the study area have been categorized into High, Medium, and Low developed villages with respect to agroforestry. The district map with village boundaries has been digitized. The village development indices of all the villages of district along with other secondary data have been attached with the digitized district map. A thematic map depicting High, Medium and Low developed villages of the district has been generated based on the percentile values of the village development indices using Geographic Information System (GIS) software
