Abstract

Synthesis and characterization of cobalt phthalocyanine (CoPc) and polyaniline-EB (Pani-EB) have been reported in this paper. CoPc, Pani-EB and CoPc/Pani-EB films, casted on precleaned glass substrates, were used to measure the conductivity and thermoelectric power (TEP). TEP measurement showed that the value of TEP increases linearly with increase of temperature. For breakdown studies metal-polymer-metal (MPM) sandwich structure was used. The bottom and top metal (Al) electrodes were deposited by vacuum evaporation technique. The middle polymer (CoPc, Pani-EB, CoPc/Pani-EB) layer was deposited by spin coating technique. It is seen that the thickness and temperature dependence of the breakdown field obeys the Forlani-Minnaja theory. From laser damage studies the threshold energy density of the films was determined
