An experiment was conducted during the rabi season (2006 - 2007) on Vicia faba cv. T-41 to know the effect of Azospirillum and Rhizobium inoculants in different concentrations on the growth and yield of fruits per plant.
Seed inoculation with Azospirillum and Rhizobium inoculants showed considerable increase in all the growth parameters over the un-inoculated control. In case of Azospirillum, seeds treated with 0.50% bacterial culture showed the best results while seeds treated with Rhizobium 0.25% bacterial culture showed better results with respect to all growth parameters. Hence Rhizobium may be recommended as suitable biofertilizer for Vicia faba cv. T-41
