Abstract

In this paper, we propose a new statistical model, which yields some well-known continuous type probability models as a special case. As tourism in Jammu and Kashmir State is one of the important major contributors to the state's economy, an attempt has been made to discuss the application of statistical models in tourism data. Statistical models are the most powerful tools particularly used for in prediction, forecasting and planning for the future strategies. Tourism Inflow data of Jammu and Kashmir (1991–2006) has been exploited with the help of statistical models for the study of pattern of the tourists Inflow in the state of Jammu and Kashmir (India)
