The fungal cultures were isolated from different soil samples of Coimbatore area, among which three pigment producing fungi were selected for analysis. Compounds of the pigment produced by Cladosporium sp., Cochliobolus lunatus and one non-sporulating sp. were analyzed by FTIR. The antibacterial activity of the pigment was analysed by well diffusion method and optimization of pH and temperature was also carried out for maximum pigment production
