Abstract

Field experiments were carried out during thaladi seasons of 2013–14 and 2014–15 at Tamil Nadu Rice Research Institute (TRRI), Aduthurai, to study the effect of a new bactericide, Taegro on bacterial leaf blight (BLB) disease of rice. Among the different doses and methods of application of Taegro {Bacillus subtilis), soil application at 250 g ha"1 + foliar application at 500 g ha"1 recorded a BLB disease score of 4.87 as against 8.67 in control. This treatment recorded a grain yield of 4511 kg ha"1 when compared to 4053 kg ha"1 in control. The minimum disease score of 4.20 and maximum yield of 4723 kg ha"1 was recorded on application of copper hydroxide check at 1250 g ha"1
