A study on the food habits and activity pattern of obese and non-obese adolescents revealed that the practice of skipping meals was more common in the non-obese girls than their obese counterparts (38% and 27.2%, respectively). The results were statistically significant (p = 0.01). The frequency of eating meals in the obese subjects (six times/day) was significantly higher (41.7%) than the non-obese subjects (34.8%), who consumed meals 4 times/day (p < 0.05). The results of the study showed that the adolescents, the obese in particular lacked healthy eating practices, which required educational and preventive interventions
