India has been one of the fastest emerging economies, and has experienced a considerable effect of the global meltdown. In this paper we analyse the impact of global meltdown on Indian exports. The study finds that, though India is not an export-oriented economy as only 22 percent of GDP is exported to other economies, but India cannot mitigate itself from the impact of globalisation. Thus, the study highlights the need the Indian economy to encourage the domestic demand along with investment in manufacturing and agricultural sector.
